Change Engine in C209
I have a 23,000 mile M112 engine in my garage on a pallet and a chance to buy at a good value a 2004 CLK320 Cabrio w/221,000 miles.
The donor engine was intended for one of my M163's but I have decided to sell it instead.
I did a complete engine swap on my other M163 in the garage/driveway.
Took 2 days + getting organized/button-up/button-down details.
Not having to pull the radiator/condenser made it comparatively easy. I have the hoist and leveler, + engine stand.
A shout-out of THANK YOU to MAJOR DUNDEE for advice and counsel and instructions
and to Jeremy Brown Service Department Manager at Mercedes Little Rock for his practical advice and encouragement as well.
Does anyone have any ideas or comments about the relative difficulty doing the same (changing the engine) for the A209 car?
(I have a C209 so I am aware that the working clearances are not so generous as the M163.)
