Simple swap out from inside the trunk. Mine cracked all along the top edge of the light. I will post MB Part# later. I believe it was like $59.00.

Mine's a 2003 Jan, and i've already replaced it once. The new one's already showing new crach lines after 9 months!

Noticed the same thing when I first picked up the car three months ago.
The dealer said they would take care of it, but I just haven't gotten the car back because of the hurricanes.

Because of this thread I looked at mine and it too has tiny hairline cracks. Its at the stealers today to have some minor items sorted, the handbrake cables came loose and were banging around underneath, the little orange flag that notifies you ifd the raer seats aren't locked wont go awy, so I'll get the lens changed aswell !

I had the same problem with my clk, i just took it back to the dealer and they swapped it out that day. Its a factory problem, it should be under warrenty

Mine too, but i already pay for it since last year... didn't know it would be under factory warrenty...

you know, when you guys close the trunk, do you do it by the top of the trunk or by the handle inside? ive had my car for a year now, and i always close it by the inside and havent ran into this problem yet.

maybe its because of the force of closing it from the top?
