Unhappy If that IS accurate, and I suspect it may be...

Then I say to hel with them. If they want to dump their CLK55 let 'em, but you won't see me giving mine away. I've comented a few times about the CLK55's poor resale, and I just don't get it.I'm guessing the lack of a kompressor engine, MB's poor reputation of late (Despite CLK's not having many problems or issues), and lastly the CLK500 and the BMW M3. The buyers who want the whole Mercedes Benz sports coupe experience and who love the CLK styling buy the CLK500. I also believe that some of the fewer buyers who want that extra bit of performance, and a more sports car package lean towards the M3 or 911. That's my two cents on the idea anyway...

As I've said, I'm keeping mine and the God's honest truth is that I'm still incredibly happy with my car, and I'm hoping that their might even be a silver lining... I'm thinking that it may be possible that once the auto enthusiast public starts to see just how nice the CLK55 is, especially considering for how little, the used ones will be hot and the aftermarket may see a better market for the more volume/cheaper pricing strategy. If guys are going to be able to pick up a three year old CLK55 for a little over $30k (At this rate, anyway) , there wil be a much bigger market for mods imho...

Anyway, I'm curious if it's legit, and if it IS, then shame on him for leaving money on the table...

Best regards,
Matt

Hopefully if the CLK55 Coupe is not available in '06 that'll help increase our cars resale value. But if the CLK63 really does come out in Jun/Jul 07 then we're screwed! I might just dump mine in '06 and buy something else. That way I'll get the most for my money

I called the number and a lady answered that knew nothing of the car. She said she has been out of town and had five calls on the car. I sent her the website, so maybe it was an honest transposition of numbers, or possibly a scam. She was going to contact the DuPont Registry.

The lady who had her number listed on that car just emailed me saying she has contacted DuPont and they are removing the lsiting. She said that name was not listed in her area.

Here is the reponse I received from him.

Hello ,
I am glad about your interest in hearing details about my car.First of all I wanna tell you some details regarding to the car and the way we can complete this transaction .Since nov. 2004 I am located in Spain where I tried to develop a business , but unfortunately the things didn't work the way I expected and now I really need cash because I am at one step to lose my restaurant from here ,so I decided to sell the car.
Because I wanna deal as soon as possible I am ready to finish the deal in a few days.
This car is like new, completely working, no scratches, no dents, never been abused, always well taken care of, low miles, clear title, manuals, the original documentation included.
It looks just the way showed in my pics, it is stored in my garage.NON SMOKER!
I realise that is a cheap price for such a product but my special situation makes me do things that i wouldn't do in normal circumstances and belive me it is not easy at all for me to sell a thing which was one of my dreams.
I offer a complete customer satisfaction guarantee or your money back. This policy means, that if the vehicle is not as described then you may return it for a 100% refund.
If the car is what you are looking for and if you agree with these conditions then I will be glad to close this deal with you.

I will be waiting your email.
Kindly Regards!

That's a no brainer! Do people still use the same verbage when trying to scam? I have so many of these ridiculous email scam/scum it has become amusing to read their garbage. They all sound the same.

I'm really sorry but I have some problems with the phone. For some
reasons when I receive a call, the fax machine is conecting in the same
time. I've talked with the phone company and only next Friday they
can send someone to fix the problem....We must comunicate by emails if is not a problem. Let me know what your intentions are.

and yet another reply...

Let me repicture the whole deal : I have already taken the car to the
shipping company. They've put it in a crate to prevent any shipping
damages(the car will also be insured for the whole shipping process). I
will have the car shipped to your delivery address for inspection. When
the ship leaves Spain, the shipping company will issue a tracking number
and some shipping documents. I will give you all these so you can track
the shipping and check that everything's OK . After you have checked
that the car has been shipped you'll have to complete a 30% from the
entire price as a deposit. The car ! ! ! ! ! ! will arrive at your home address and
you'll have 2 days for inspection after which you will have to decide
wether you'll take the car or not. If you do, you'll have to pay the
balance cash/cashiers cheque to the shipper. If for any reason the car
is found unsatisfactory, I'll refund you in full and supply a shipping
account that will be charged for returning the car or I'll try and sell
it in your area.
All the papers are inside in the car and the car is crated ready to be shiped, i only need to provide them a shipping address and the shipping process will start, it will take between 14 an 20 days until the car arrives at your home address, alnog with the car you will receive two pairs of keys, the title signed by me as the owner, the warranty papers, all the original books of the car, also the car has been inspected by the shipping company inspectors for the declared value of the insurance purposes and some papers about the condition of the car was release you will receive those papers too.
Let me know your decision ,
Regards,
Robert Donnell
