Suspension CLK 55 AMG Convertible
Hi,
I have a new CLK 55 AMG convertible coming shortly, I am putting 19" rims, 8.5 front & 9.5 rear on the car. What I have seen so far from another CLK 55 AMG whick was a July 2004 build the rear of the car is quite soft. What springs & or shocks would you use to tighten up the suspension a little.
I am use to the stiffness of a M3, so I am leaning towards that sort of harsher ride. There seems to be a great deal of knowledge out there with forum members and I am asking for your views and actual cases of suspension changers that a forum member may have made to there CLK55.
Robert

2004 CLK55
Get the Brabus Lowered Suspension Kit, drops it about 1". The ride will be a bit stiffer with the 19's and the Brabus suspension will firm up the cornering. I did this to my 2004 CLK55 AMG coupe.

Hi,
Thanks for the info. A couple of people have mentioned Coilovers, whats your thoughts?
Also in regards to the Brabus Lowered Suspension Kit, is that both springs & shocks? or do the AMG shocks handle the Brabus springs ok.

Hi Skytop,
I will mostly likely sell them. I have asked the MB dealer to take them off the day the car arrives and put the new 19" straight on as I will already have the 19". I know the rims are AMG 18" as the car is a CLK55 AMG but I do not know what brand of tyre is on the rims at this point in time. The car was on the MB assembly line as of the 12th Sept 2005 and is suppose to arrive in the next 6 weeks (end of Oct 2005).
Are you or do you have someone interested in the rims & tyres?
