w208 brake calipers/rotors
hey everyone,
i'm just tired of the stock brake calipers and rotors, so plain when compared to an updated model AMG . . . was wondering where I can get the updated AMG calipers, i just contacted evosport and they said the C32 kit wouldn't fit the w208, only the w209, i know and have seen some pictures of the w208 with the updated calipers, where can i get them, the rotors i can get but i am wondering about the updated caliper and would performance be any different with the updated caliper/rotor . . . thanks in advanced

The C32 kit will work on your car. Evosport does not encourage w208 owners to use the C32 setup because it just wasnt designed to work with the CLK, mainly because of the difference between the leading edge and trailing edge caliper setup, or at least this is my understanding.

While I agree with you that the W208 AMG brake setup is not a "pretty" as the Brembos on the W203 and W209s, but they are better brakes....period.
In the Edmunds tests, the W208 CLK55 stopped from 60mph in 112 feet, while the C32 was tested at 118 feet.

While this fact is true, a better measure of stopping force is repeated 60-0 stops. After a few stops and go's at a track for instance, you will notice that the larger rotor will 1. absorb more heat (enemy), 2. dissepate more heat faster, equally to brake fade occurring later rather than earlier. The sheer mass of the larger rotor will improve stopping performance.

I'd like to replace my calipers and rotors as well.
Where can I get the rotors?? Any idea how much for a set of 4.
Also which brake pads do you guys recommend that has less
brake dust.

One stop, stopping distance is primarily a tire (grip), ABS efficiency/tuning, hydraulic apply response test. The rotor/caliper setup has very little influence in stopping distance.
Rotor/caliper/pads are key factors in fade/durability/noise.

go for frozen rotors! unless you want to change your calipers then go with something like stoptech or BBk KIT. but the frozen rotors look like a great company! mine will be here on wednesday and installed thursday. ill let you know how it all goes. im getting stoptech SS lines, frozen slotted rotors, hawk hps pads, havent picked out fluid yet but probaly super blue. it should stop gooood!
it ended up running me a little bit below 1300 for 4 rotors and both front and rear sets of brake pads.

I've been stuck on this same dilema for months.
W208 rotor selection sucks. If you want looks BBK seems to be the only way to go (pricey). Frozen is nice but only come in Dimpled or slotted i beleive.

slotted is very good for performance though. are you looking for drilled? they aren't as good unless you just want looks. but the Slotted are nice

Ya sorry what i meant by looks is cross drilled. Only option i've seen for quality cross drilled rotors from likes like Rotora or Brembo. There must be a reason for this something to do with the directional fins on stock AMG rotors? Or no market for em

yea those are really good but its an arm and a leg and you need the whole kit or i dont think it works as good. i talked to the guy at frozen rotors and he said they don't offer drilled because they cant guarantee there quality, i guess they flex a lot easier. to be honest for people who dont care about looks i think our rotors are pretty good; if you just throw some SS lines, nice pads, and better brake fluid they are good for occasional track use. i cant wait for my frozen pieces though =)
edit: i was thinking about painting my calipers. what do you guys think about that? is it tacky? i wanted to paint them either lambo orange, red(kinda overplayed), or just black and stencil in the AMG logo a contrasting color.
