Smile New To The AMG World And This Forum - Hello To All

Hello To All Out There, I am new to the AMG forum - This is my first CLK55 AMG, I was a former Porsche Owner (986S, 993, 996) one of my friend bought a 55AMG which i drove one long weekend and quickly feel in love with the BEAST - after my last lease with my 986S i found myself at a MB dealership - Apparently a doctor ordered a 02 with every option available, he never came to pcik up the car - I walked in and found myself drawn to it - the dealership was eager to get the BEAST out of their showroom so I worked out a great deal and drove her home two days later - Well it's been 600 miles later and I must say DAM - I love this car - My brother just got a 2003 M5 which is beautiful, we perform high speed roll ons all most nightly - from 80 - 155mph the AMG sticks with the M5 side by side - no kidding, most of our friend thought the M5 would kill me, I knew the BEAST would not be slaughtered easily. The car came with the following options
K1, K2, Timeport phone, CD-Changer, Command System, Voice Command - Sometime I feel like James Bond - "Next CD Please" and It really works :-) I attached pics of the BEAST for your viewing pleasure - hope to share information and insight with you all

You have less than 1000 miles and

you drove it all the way to 155!! Well, I guess it's ok because AMG already broke it in the dyno. So the M5 didn't hose you. Tell me more about the race.

was it hard "working out a deal" at the dealership? I figured they would've charged you full sticker....nothing less for the beast!

Very nice.....

Stiggs,

Dealers are discounting CLK55's as well as E55's right now. Go and get one!

Thumbs up You have less than 1000 miles and

1200 miles and still burning the tires - Here's the deal that I got
The MSRP was 83498.00 the dealer dropped it to 76897.35 (don't ask me where they got the .35cents from) I have both my PORSCHE from the associated dealer - Ray Catena - So My old PORSCHE sales person talked to the mgmt and that's the deal they worked out for me. I drive my cars very, very hard almost daily (that is if my wife is not in the car with me) so I'm hoping the AMG can hang with that - so far so very, very good -

click on Rear, left angle (800x600, 69KB)

Now that's what what i'm talkin bout! Awsome pics my friend! Are you going to be doing some upgrades in the near future? Like the usual wheels, tires, suspension or just leave it stock?

Thanks!

Talking Upgrades

1st I'll Start With Wheels (Not Sure Yet Which Ones) Any Recommendations ? What Else is there to upgrade ? What is the proven standard with the CLK 55 ?

Upgrades

Well what size of wheels are you looking to get 18"s or 19"s? Would probably recommend mesh type for that racing look like the BBS LM's. After that you should get the kleemann suspension for solid handling. And then add 1 tblspn of kleemann supercharger for added umph! That'll give you approximately 550hp! That's to start it off. And then get some cams and headers by MKB!

What do you guys think of OZ superlegarra 2. It's a two piece design. 18' weighs lbs. The 19' only weighs 23 lbs. And it's a forged design. I was planning this. Any comments.

I don't get it. MSRP of $83.5K?

I see you have all options, but $14K worth?

Are you adding in sales tax?

Actual MSRP

80,416.35 - My wife just faxed me the window sticker
there must be an inflation from the dealership somewhere in this price - For some reason I feel like the sucker sign is hanging over my office - tell me it isn't so
The packages are as follows:

K2a
trucnk mounted CD
Command system
Voice control
Illuminated Door Sills
Chrome Head Lamp Rings
AMG Style I
Trunk Cargo Tray With Dividers

Plus a couple of shirts, hats, mugs etc - which I probably paid for anyway

Nice CLK! Welcome to the forum. Once your CLK55 has at least 5000 miles on, it should be faster since it will be fully broken in.

I feel your pain.

The CLK55 AMG is the best car manufactured on this planet, since Karl Benz patented the first automobile on January 29, 1886.

All of them, as much as I can...
First off, WELCOME!

and congratulations on acquiring a fine automobile.
Although I agree, it can be a beast, it's still a fine automobile and that swayed me against the M5. Don't you just LOVE the solid chug when you close the door?
Anyway, once you put 19's and good rubber on your toy, I think you'll post better slalom runs against your bro.
FWIW, here's a pix of 19" SSR GT3s on my 55. I like them but probably should have gone with Brabus or AMG 18s on hindsight.
