It's really too bad that any one who does not agree with CLKAL is a ricer. Again, if anyone wants to modify their car with something that they like....let it be!!
The forum is supposed to be for constructive advice, not for narrow minded know it alls who want to find a way to inflate their egos by putting down someone else...let it go!

None of my comments were to put down anybody. If you read my posts, you can clearly see that I say his car is SICK....MINUS the wing.
So, if you want to get technical about it, stop being a hypocrite! YOU were the one who instigated this entire thing by bringing up MY car, and your opinion of MY car in this thread......and you did it again in the post i just quoted.
oh yeah....u forgot about that, huh?
last time I checked, everybody is entitled to his/her own opinion. but if you don't agree with mine, you don't have to bash MY car to try to make a point, do you? Guess if it makes you feel better, go right ahead.....
i'm done with this thread.
can't we all just get along??????

Disagree... Think the wing sets it apart.. I guess it only really matters to the dude that drives it though huh..

True, the DTM race model cars have the exact same wing, however, those cars are being raced on the track on a daily basis, so the down force it creates for the rear of the car is needed. For you to say that if it is good enough for those cars so it's good enough for yours does not make sense.....

further more, i agree with your point. that wing is unfunctional on that car. and it just add that "ricer" cliche image to a what used to be a classy tasteful car.

I'm not a big fan of wings - but on THIS car it just seems to look right. Go with it and enjoy - beauty, after all, is and always will be in the eye of the beholder. :

I think the car looks great.. and sure does the wing... I asked the dealer here to contact me if AMG releases for sale, otherwise I will go for AC schnizter one.. about the discussion, I believe everybody is free to think as they like but isn't the word ricer a little too hard for a benz?? I trust on AMGs taste of design... while there are thousands of other dtm wings that could perform better downforce, they chose a design like that.. I think its more than functionality...

2001 CLK55 Conv.-sold, 2003 CLK320 Conv.-sold, 2006 CLK55 AMG Coupe sold, SLK55 AMG Current
God dam even the CLK DTM Conv has is
Exactly.
People even the CLK DTM convertible has a wing on it and looks pretty dam sharp. Okay the OEM CLK DTM convertible wing is bit smaller thatn comapared to robertus car. I thought first this was the same wing.
However I guess that the wing would only fit with the DTM body style!!!!!

it's probably because the clk dtm is wide body and wing completes the rear of the car... otherwise it would look too empty in the back... I like the ac schnitzer wings too, they are a little smaller..

I'd say loose the wing..
its screw up the nice body line CLKW209 has.....
Otherwise that is one sweet looking CLK.
and if you ask me, CLK DTM convertible is a joke...who would need that.. I guess when there is demand from people with money Mercedes would them some..

2002 CLK55 Cabriolet (DEAD: 1989 300E, 1984 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible)
I'm voting thumbs down on the wing. I see nice rounded lines everywhere on his car, and then I hit the wing - thinner, angular, somewhat sharp edges - the exact opposite of the motif of the rest of the car. In a "real" DTM all the body panel bulges and whatnot help mute this jarring effect. On a "regular" CLK 55, there's nothing to offset that. I think the car would look better without the wing. Why try and be something it's not (i.e., a DTM)?
