My CLK55 "BURNT" Finally Lowered
Brabus Lowering Springs
But I won't...the sun here in SoFl is murder on the body....
I've have owned 3 black cars,
they are hell to keep clean...but they sure look damn good when they
are...nothing else can compare to it.
I'm definitely going to get me a clk55 cab, later.
Do you experience any body integrity issues because of the loss
of the top? Even with the coupe body when crossing driveways
diagonally, I hear a few creaks.
Again, great looking car, btw, what color is your top, black right?!
Happy motoring!!!
With the windows & roof up on the M3 I find a lot of noise of glass rubbing on the roof rubbers, I do not get this on the CLK55 cab.

It is a little tighter in the suspension, the ride is a little harsher but not by much. The handling I believe is much better, less body roll. It seems more responsive under power. I have the AMG LSD 3.06 ratio diff installed with heavier universal joints and driveshafts and with the wider 19" wheels with P Zero tyres the ESP does not cut in at all.
There is some more mods being done to the car next week.

They did a pretty good job.
. All he needs now is the DTM kit
WOW if that is real pic...its sad...sad I say.
There were very few realeased, i think about 100 coupes and 200 cabrio's which have mostly been pre-purchased a while ago. I hear there are some in very few dealerships.
I don't see why you're making such a big deal out of it, there is nothing "rice" about the spoiler. It's not even that big, and is made to perfectly match the car (just like on the DTM). Like the person above me said, I think it adds a very nice and sporty touch to the pretty plain CLK body.
Thanks for the reply to my post. I put my name down for a DTM-CLK Cabrio and they told me I am the 151st in line. At this point in time they are going to build 100 and subject to orders another 100 after that.
The problem lies in by the time thay build the second 100 the new CLK will be out, as they build about 50 a year I heard.
So I am not sure whether to keep pushing ahead or buy a Ferrari in 2007 to 2008. Another car would be the M3 V8 Cabrio in 2007 for a bit of fun.
I made another post where I just got the thermal covers for the air intakes. The car goes to a Tuner who specializes in ECU programming for Ferrari & Porsche GT3 & MB in the next week. We have now in Australia 100 octane fuel from Shell, BP & shortly Caltex and should be close to getting 400 HP out of the V8 with all the mods we have done.
We have completly altered the rear end of the car, new springs, brake pads, upgraded universal joints & larger driveshafts plus the AMG LSD. I do not know why MB does not put the LSD as standard in these cars, they handle so much better, the ESP light hardly comes on and it shaves off nearly half a second for 0-100km.

AMG LSD? I thought only Kleeman and Quaife made LSD's for MB's. I too wish they would put a LSD on these cars, specially the AMG's. For the amount of money already spent on these cars it should be standard. Specially when a car has 400+ torque and horseys..
