What is a 2001 CLK55 Worth?
I was talking with my local dealer yesterday about trading in my CLK55 on another car. They we less than interested in taking my car in trade saying that too many people bought CLK55's drove them for 3K to 10k miles and then dumped them on the market. They said that I would not get more than auction value from a dealer and that I would be better off selling it on my own. (I have a SL55 on order with this dealer so I am shocked with this kind of treatment) They claim CLK55's are going at auction for 41 to 43..... What a joke.
What is a realistic price for the car?
Can anyone reccomend a Mercedes dealer in the SE, because I will not be buying any more cars from this one?
Thanks!

That dealer probably wants to "discourage" you from trading yours in as the W208 AMG's are moving slow...new, used, etc. Thus, the "lowball" on a trade. With the new W209's coming in, slow economy, etc. They may not want a CLK55 in their inventory right now.
But, doing a trade-in has always been the expensive way to go.
How many miles are on your CLK55? If less than 10K and in good shape, you can expect to get in the neighborhood of $55K (retail). If you need more than dealer trade out of your car, sell it privately.
Good luck in whatever you decide.
