Bose Bass module for CLK55

What exactly comprises the bass module at the center console of the CLK 320's with the 2 bass ports coming out? Can I swap out that front, and create my own pair of 10"'s in a custom box behind the back seat (trunk) to fire through this piece, or can you only get this Bose piece as an entire setup, complete with speakers, and their box? I'd like to make my own, and use simply the Bose center console with ports for aesthitic purposes. Anyone know the feasability of this project?

The speaker is L shaped. It is actually part of the seat design and fits in very snug. The speaker area is at the back and up

The sound bounces around and comes out of the front ports.

There isnt enough room for 10" speakers.
