Nice article, but I wish it stated the release date for the US!!. BTW, is it me or have 99% of the photos that have released had the COMAND system??? I think I have maybe seen one pic without the Navi. Just thought that to be interesting.

the rear of the clk55 looks too rump. it looks like it's sticking it's rear end up in the air. too much rake action going on. do you guys also notice this too?

All of them, as much as I can...
It looks like a Volvo! The new technological upgrades are exciting but I can't warm up to the body styling yet. Just like when the S class first hit, this may need a couple of years to settle in. I heard the Comand system will now be DVDrom based (all USA in 1 DVD, faster and better graphics)
I wish some Photoshop expert here can do a cabriolet rendition of the 209...

Nice car, nice article, next step on this car is to drop a kompressor in there, either AMG (MB direct) or Kleeman, wow that would make it take off

S500
I have my 2003 CLK55 arriving mid-September...very excited. My 2002 S500 stolen last month. Big change in car type, but I think it will be a lot of fun to drive. Does anyone know exactly which wheels/tires will come on the car?

mid-september ?

From what I have read from official mercedes documents at my dealership, the new CLK 55 goes into production 1st November with the release date to be in December sometime....

if you are getting your car next month, you should already have a production date for it...you may want to check with your dealer

Good point nabzy, my thought was that the cars would not be out until sometime eary next year (Jan. or Feb.). The general rule of thumb is that the AMG follow about 6-8 months after the regular car. Maybe the W209 will not follow that rule, which would be fine by me!!!:p :p

I don't know what's worse, the rear of the W209 CLK or the rear of the new 745i!

I agree with C-Kompii, the rear of the 745i is ugly. It's almost as if they designed the car and forgot about the deck lid. Then someone said, hey we forgot something, oh ya!!, we better fix that with putting this on as an afterthought!!!!
