The front may be a little funny looking, and you are not going to get very good performance out of them. You will have a smaller contact patch. I would not do it on the front. I have not had one good expierence with this. I would try it out on the rear, however. You may get a better contact patch, or just more sidewall flex. It really depends on what kind of tires you have. On a 15x6.5 i have run 195 and 205, and on 18x10 I have run 295, 305, and 315 with mixed results. Try it, if you dont like it change back. Just keep you old tires or buy new ones.

Yes, the fronts are way too skinny. You will be understeering when pushing it around turns....plus it looks funny. On the 996 it is not as much of an issue. I find it odd that Porsche sells their 17" rims with those tires (the stock 911 sizes), but I guess it works. Porsche and their magic suspensions. I am surprised the car does not understeer that much, but with these tires the CLK would IMO.

On my C32 the stock sizes are 225/f and 245/r (same as yours). I am going to try and go 235 or even 245/f and 255/r. The C32 understeers more than it should, so that I how I would try and compensate.

The rears are fine, you shouldn't have any problems there. The front's are not the right size, and I would not recommend using them. Not only are the too skinny for the car, which already understeers, but they would be stretching to fit the wheel.

What About Winter Tires Only

I Have A New Pair Of MZ02 Winter Tires - Can I Use Those, I Understand The Performance Hit, But If Take It Easy Can I Get Away With It ?
