thanx, improviz. Your quite right about the grip thing, AMG and Motorsport are top notch tuning specialists...but i hate meeting quick audis after a downpour!
you thought about delimiting your ride? its crossed my mind but i dont wanna mess anything up or know how easy it is

I know Iv had my good share of battles here so I will try to keep it short.I just find it odd how you felt the 350z had a better throttle responce than the m3?
I could not drive the m3 in sport mode because I would jerk the **** out of it because the throtle was so damn sensitive. My buddies would just laugh at me and tell me I couldnt drive for crap and I would have them try and be 10x worse than me lol
I walked a 350z with my e36 m3 and find it strange you felt that way about the BMW.I did have a lot of mods done but still I thought it would of done better.
Maybe you should test out an old school e36 m3 and see how much more connected that car feels. you can make some crazzy power with that car now and not spend a fortune doing it.
slap on a gt35r and boost it till she blows then do a rebuild with stronger internals.
there's a good post over at bimmmerforums with a guy boosting 23 psi on a bone stock engine and is making over 600whp with it.You can do that or play it safe like me and just run a simple 12 psi and be happy with 420whp

Those are magazine tests im assuming. Cars are not exactly the same. Those are just guidlines of what the car is capable of in optimum conditions. the C5 vette I beat was not the first and probably wont be the last. Vettes are much easier to drive then an M3. If you cant drive or your not agressive enough, You wont get the full potential out of the high reving s54 engine. I have seen people lose against cars they should beat just by not shifting at max rpm and starting a rolling start race at too low of an rpm. SMG completes gear changes in .080 miliseconds. just that alone is enough to close a small gap. There are many variables when it comes to racing in the real world. I know my car very well. Maybe im an exception. But im pretty sure I can do the same in another M3.
The guy in the M3 didnt look he was trying very hard. It looks like he was in the wrong gear. Anytime I engage a bogie on the freeway I start in 3rd gear at 6800rpm. Makes a huge difference. Here is an example.. I ran a slk32 (very quick car) 3 times and the time I started below 6000 rpm I lost. Other 2 I won.

Throttle response on M3 is better than enything i can think of.

You beat an SLK32, which traps at 110+, in your M? Wow...usually M3s are trapping in the 104-106 range...that's impressive. Have you taken yours to a strip yet? Love to see a timeslip for that thing!

I took the car to the track 3 months after I got the car. It ran a 13.39@105.9mph. (corrected for 1,100 feet above seal level) 88 deg weather. It was unfortunate that day because I hit the rev limiter in 2nd and 3rd.. I was hoping for a 13.1. Car is bone stock. Just lowered. I will try and find it and post it up. I know the 60 fot was 2.19 and the 1/8 I beleive was a 8.59 or something.. Dont qoute me its been awhile since I looked at it.
