CLK55 AMG Picture Thread

Thanks guys. The more I drive it and learn about it these are just plain amazing cars and amazed they are under appreciated. On past cars I've done some mild mods but on this one I'm somewhat flummoxed as there is so little to do. Thinking of powder coating the wheels a darker graphite for a more aggressive look to match the cars incredible performance, and maybe a carbon front splitter.

A slight lowering job and some nice 19in wheels with good tires would finish off the car. Especially since the car is already super nice.
Something like this. Not my car but I like it!

CLK55AMG advice
Hi, Thanks for the advice, awesome looking car. I think I'm going to enjoy it a bit before I decide what to do, like the guy who does a serious home remodel (I'm a pretty high end realtor, see this a lot) before moving in then regrets what he did. Still leaning towards just a black/carbon splitter and powder coat the wheels in a flat graphite. like the 17's and they have new Pirellis P Zeros as they soften the stiff suspension vs 18's or 19's.

Thanks!
Lot of suspension stuff, built trans, Wavetrac, Renntech intake, Tune, Catted LTH, weight reduction, Maxton front/rear lip, tons of deferred maintenance addressed from the prior original owner (cooling system, AC, seat electrics, dash, sensors, oil leaks, etc).
It was a pretty near perfect car when I sold it. 148k on the clock when this picture was taken.

These 208's are getting harder and harder to find. I drove out to Michigan from Philadelphia for mine and drove it 700 miles home. I'm going through the same process currently of deferred maintenance and trying to restore it while adding some goodies along the way. One of the nicest platforms of cars I've ever driven with plenty of power.

I notice you have 6 toys in your garage, that's great.
You need one more car for a full 7 day.
When mood goes up or down you change vehicle for the day.

Just got both of these in the last month, about to get started on building them!
Should be a fun project car winter!
The coupe is actually just a CLK430 that the previous owner shamelessly upbadged prior to blowing the transmission….
The coupe has everything I need to complete the convertible, and seeing as how rare the 2002 CLK55 AMG droptops are, that’s definitely the way to go as it only has 68k miles on it….
So when all is said and done and the convertible is fixed back to OEM and sold, I’m thinking of doing something nuts like throwing a CL600 front end swap on the coupe and then shoehorning the V12 with a 6-speed stick into it and making it das überdrift missle lolololololol…. I’ll likely be starting a thread asking some questions related to that idea soon….

Have you tried to dive in or work on it at all yet? I'm curious as to what exactly is wrong with it.
I was very close to buying that car but i already have black 55 coupe lol.

I was looking at both of those cars, more specifically the black one. Was that the car that was listed as needing a transmission? He never really went in depth on what exactly it was doing that made him think it needs a trans. If you're unsure i would do a full service on it, i bet its fine. Conductor plate, plug, and a flush and see if that works.

'02 lowered on H&R Sport springs, 18" Monoblock 2s. Nothing but service and general maintenance up to now. Going to refresh some interior pieces, and get it into paint correction, then we can think about LSD.

Very Nice! Im running 18's in the Rear and 17's in the front but i may go 18's all around for a winter set-up, or 19's if i can find them at a decent price. Any other pics? How are you liking the H&R's?
