I don't care what they say. The CLK55 AMG is a great car that most people can only dream about. I'm keeping mine.
Tim
The fork that counts states:
And unlike the S55 we drove recently, the CLK55 is a perfect example of what AMG can do to an already capable car. While the S55 felt like a slightly faster S500 that was still too unwieldy and wallowy to deliver a truly thrilling ride, the CLK55 felt like a CLK-Class that had been tweaked for ultimate performance. The V8 engine makes excellent torque over a broad powerband, the five-speed automatic transmission never misses a beat, and the suspension combines a firm, but acceptable, highway ride with exceptional composure on backcountry roads. The front seats offer a multitude of adjustments, and the engine makes the kind of music you expect from a hot-rodded V8.
The sick and idiotic fork to be discarded states:
After we were done driving the car, we didn't have a strong yearning to donate a kidney just to own one.
Clearly, this Edmunds review speaks with forked tongue!

Funny, this is the EXACT reason I bought mine
I agree, especially since taking money for donating a kidney in the U.S. is illegal!!!
So he was ready to donate his kidney, because his level of discomfort increased exponentially, - as he was about to miss the publishing deadline and the pressure in his bladder became explosive -- as it was about to burst!
No wonder, his judgement of the CLK55 AMG deteriorated with every word the closer he got to the end to fabricate the mandatory number of words -- simply too much bladder pressure clouded everything and became bulls..t!
...at the end he even made this nebulous statement:
Some editors felt the seats were a bit firm. Combined with a taut ride, this car's no land-yacht. Save that for the Cadillac Fleetwood/Lincoln Town Car set.
Very ponerous/preposterous. What's next??
The space shuttle to compare the CLK55 AMG to -- of course!
Let's give the poor suffering Edmund's writer the benefit of the doubt because of his own personal precarious situation.
He did make some good points re: steering and brake feel, but anytime I hear "not 'worth' the additional $20K compared to an M3" misses the point.
