I was wondering why my calipers dont say AMG on them? Is this normal for an 02 CLK 55?

 

Your calipers should be stamped AMG....they are made by Ate.

 

My calipers and the rotor hats are both clearly stamped AMG with the complete logo. Strange yours do not?

Here's a picture of the AMG on the cast aluminum hub and if you could see towards the front of the caliper it has AMG cast into it as well. This is a picture of the front brakes on my 02 CLK55 Cab. Should be the same as yours.

 

Yeah Mbman that is what mine look like too? Just some of the ones I see are a nice looking smooth on the face with AMG on them like the brembo set up.

 

TOTALLY different brakes....those were standard on the '03 and up CLK55, among other AMGs.

 

Ah ok, that makes sence, I was going to paint mine to clean them up as the new rims will let them show through. When I looked at them they were kind of ugly and painting might just draw attention to them. Has anyone used or seen up close those break caliper covers like the ones for sale on Ebay? Not that it has to look like Brembo as I have no desire to change out the breaks on my 55 but just make it look better.

 

The caliper should also be engraved with an AMG logo, nothing like the w211 E55 brakes though.
