Thinking about buying 2001 CLK55 AMG
I'm seriouly thinking about buying a 2001 CLK55 AMG BLK on BLK with 49350. I'm am very new to MB don't know much about them except they look good. The question I want to know the reliabilty, service of CLK, maintenance such as timing belt , brakes , etc. and problems for this particular year thanks for info.

I just did "B" service at @75K and replaced tranny and engine mounts but other than that everyting is running strong and I am looking to get the first High Milage Award. So as long as service is good...

Oil is Mobil 1....pricey stuff. My oil changes have ranged from $100-$150 each and I change mine at 5K intervals.
Front Pads and rotors will set you back $1000, parts only....add labor if you're not a DIYer. If the car is maintained well (a thorough PPI is highly recommended), it should give many trouble-free miles.
Do not, under any circumstances, spill any liquid down the shift gate....you will fry a computer costing $$$.
Other items inherent to all W208 CLKs include potential problems with the instrument cluster, power seats not working sometimes, squeaks and rattles, radio issues.....probably more. Try a search as this topic has been covered dozens of times over the years.
Does the car you're considering have an extended warranty?
