Just an Update:

I have had the pads for almost a month. They are super quiet and NO, Did I say NO Brake Dust. I feel the cars stops better, and the fact that there is no brake dust is enough for me. Well worth it. I had thought about getting the porterfields at first, but I thought $200.00 for front pads was ridiculous. So I spent $90.00 on these and I love them. I will be using them from now on. I also noticed someone else makes aftermarket Rotors (Cross drilled and slottted). That will be my next purchase when these rotors are finished.

Who did you find for the rotors? I can't find anything for the 55 AMG brakes.

My wife's ML55 suffered from chronically squeaky original brakes. I installed Akebono pads with new factory discs to 1. try them since the local Akebono distributor was telling me how good they were, and 2. hopefully solve my reoccuring brake squeal with the OE pads and 3. have less brake dust which would be a great side benefit.
The brake dust was definitely less, and brake squeal was initially gone. Everything was great but went downhill after about 3 months with gradually worsening sueal and the repeated cleanings (with deglazing pads) wouldn't quiet them down.
I finally replaced the Akebono pads with a new set but different brand (Pagid this time) to keep searching for a quiet pad for the ML.
Here's the best part, the brakes squealed (like a dump truck) just as bad immediately! I tried to refinish, and break the glaze on the discs and it was now capable of repeatedly destroying (3 sets) deglazing pads without touching the glaze. They were obviously work hardened and I had to replace them again with another new set of discs.
I have never seen that one before! Maybe something my wife did, but I doubt it. I won't try another set of those pads. The worst part is that cost 50% more than anything else and ruined a new set of discs. Expensive lesson.
I hope you have better luck than I had with the Akebono's.

Just another update. Today I got the warning for Brake Fluid. So we jacked up the car and noticed that 3 of the 4 Stainless Steel Brake Lines are leaking. So we cleaned everything up and noticed that it is coming out of the crimped connection closest to the Caliper. I bought those lines from a company called G-Force Brakes. I know Chappy has the same set. Just wondering if his are leaking as well. They either are crappy lines or I just got a defective batch.

All of them!
They like to leak at the fitting, not the crimp. Look real closely. Mine wanted to leak and Chappy's are fine (I installed them personally right after my own).
Mine have been track tested too.

I just installed Goodridge Stainless Brake lines. I stopped over by Jerry at formymercedes and picked them up. He has them in stock and he only lives about 15 minutes from me. I contacted Gforce and they told me they would send out a new set, but I couldn't wait. So if anyone is interested in the new set when I get them let me know. $60.00 shipped. I must have recieved a faulty set.

They definately were leaking from the crimp, the lines were blue, the brake fluid got trapped between the stainless line and the rubber coating, which made the lines look blue. We ended up ripping the rubber off and we could see them leaking right from the crimp on the caliper side.
