I must say that I am really impressed with the new CLK63. Was a little sceptical going from a CL55 to it but have no regrets. The 55 motors felt so heavy. I'd Press on the throttle and you just dont feel anything. It then drops a gear, charger winds up and takes off. The power comes in so much smoother on the 63 and the handling is much better. Of course you would expect that from such a smaller car.

Now the next questions is mods. Have had the car for 2 days now and removed the charcoal filters yesterday. What else can I do?? Chip?? Headers??

Thanks
John V.

I got a really good deal on a demo 1. Only had 2400km's. Its my standard color, Black on Black. To me cars look the best in black.

Renntech & probably Carlsson & Kleemann
Renntech already offers ECU and headers options for your CLK 63 cab.

Also, you could always throw a Kleemann supercharger on it and you'd probably have 700 hp!!

I find Renntech so overpriced. I know there products are good but 5g's for headers and 3g's for tuning is just too steep. When I had my 996 did the Upsolute tuning for $500 and it worked awsome. Please keep me posted if there are any alternatives.

Headers, tuning and some air filters are what I'm after. Think the 63 motor will sound really nice with that. So happy with it so far!!!

I spoke with the Brabus people over at the Brabus stand in the latest Geneva car show (in march).

They told me about the 63 engine mods they've been working on so far, basically summed it up with headers, exhaust and ECU. Upped power to 540hp or something like that if I recall correctly (this was on a CLS63).

Kleemann hasn't mentioned any Kompressor mods for the 63 engine yet. Maybe the engine is just too new?

I don't recall seeing and mod info from Renntech either. Maybe I should visit their website more often.

Kleemann will offer the s/c very soon
Knowing Kleemann, who I've heard is going to start offering a supercharger option for the new 550 V-8's any day now, will most likely start offering a supercharger for the new 6.3 V-8 very soon after that.

Within the next 3 to 6 months we should see a standard supercharger setup from Kleemann for the 63. Then probably a while after that we'll see one coming from Renntech.

With headers, exhaust, and ECU, renntech can get the car to between 540 to 550 horsepower already, so most likely if you add in a Kleemann supercharger you should be up over 700 horsepower since the 6.3 liter V-8 is quite larger than the old 5.5 liter SOHC V-8 that alot of guys were putting that S/C on.

Cut the resonator out yesterday. Sounds soooooooo much better.

If you like the stock sound just a little more enhanced I strongly suggest getting it removed. Will post a sound clip soon.
