True story: the M3 lined up with an F350 Superduty at a light. Chuck gets out of his truck, takes one look at the M3 and it conceded.

2001 CLK55 AMG
Over here in my neck of the western Chicago burbs it seems like the Nissan Altima SER guys are always propositioning me. It drives me crazy. I don't so much think the M3 guys think they have the fastest cars it's the young punks driving the STI's. I know they are fast but put an 18 to 21 year old behind the wheel and I'll do anything to get away from them.

M3's are all over the place here. The popularity of them makes them less appealing to me. 
I've surprised a few of them around here b/c they have low torque and unless you dump the clutch off the line, you won't be doing 0 - 60 anywhere near 5 seconds flat.

E46 M3 guys are usually young guys that believe they have the fastest car in the world because of the BMW M3 brand image. Its sad to say, but it's something we have all been through for at least a short period of time in our young and adolescent lives. They have probably never owned anything faster, and they don't know much about modifying cars either. They just think that since it's an BMW M3, its supposed to be super fast.
And I agree! I feel that in the Tri-state area, most M3 drivers think they are all that, and they drive like dicks, and when they lose a race, they usually do the "fly by" after you already won and slowed down....

yup its just M3 owners that are cocky
mabe the problem is some of these guys like to enjoy there cars more than most
they might not think or know there the fastest out there but they enjoy there more than average HP.

I agree. I normally would not say this, but we should all get together and give these E46 and G35 guys a good spanking.
I have to admit that ONE time, on NJTP I ran an E46 M3. He had nothing on me after 80. It was an open stretch for a while and he kept coming back for more whippin. Once we hit traffic, I backed off while he started to bob and weave through cars like he was Deion Sanders.
Maybe it's a North Jersey/NY thing, but it seems like the M3 and G35s are the wannabe Gotti/Bridge-and-Tunnel/I think I'm the coolest dude in town -mobile. I just went to a family dinner in Edgewater and witnessed at least 3 "cool guys" revving/flooring their G35s around the parking lot.
Why??????????!!!

2nd I think you guys are being too stereotypical. You guys are clumping all bad Bmw drivers into one category and giving them a title. Your statistics are skewed as myself and other Bmw drivers drive with care and respect. I think some of you should rethink what you said and see the irony in some of the posts you posted. I saw a post saying "We should show them a lesson", "they think they can stay with an AMG", "And they seriously think they can take me.......", and the best yet, "I've had to put quite a few E46 M3 drivers in their place.".
Look at you guys, it really looks like you guys have the insecurities by posting this stuff. I mean if your content with your purchase of an Amg, then be appreciative, but posting stuff like this just proves to me that you may have made the wrong decision in a car purchase or you are not happy with it. Please don't clump all Bmw drivers into a category like that. Yes there is the exception but classifying an M3 with civics? Come on. It is a $60k car, lets be real.

What is the matter with C230 owners? They seem to think they can take anyone. Seriously its funny though. Getting rev'd on by a slush box you guys call a car.

02 BMW M3
Ive driven both an SMG and 6MT e46 M3 and both were hella fun to drive!
Ive also driven plenty of Merslushes and AMGs and they really boring...
Probably didn't know about DSC, Sport Mode or the extra bar in the SMG shiftspeed if you did you would've dropped your slushy and got a real car.

A close friend has an M3 SMG, black on black it looks amazing, and I've had plenty of time to drive it around. I could have easily gotton a SMG M3 over the AMG, but I don't need to break my back everytime I shift gears. I'm not using this car on the track anytime soon, so the C55 was the more logical choice. Everyday civility and the ability to beat my friend on the highway or from a stop.
