CLK63 Cab vs. BMW 6 'Vert

First let me say I have owned 3 SL's over the years a beautiful 1982 380SL a 1990 500SL and a beautiful 1999 SL500, so I do appreciate the MB brand- It just recently I have gone back to BMW largely because the X5 drives much better than the ML I compared it to back in '04 and I needed a convertible with a back seat for my little girl, problem is I have another one in December on her way and I need more room so I am thinking that the CLK is bigger in the rear than the 6er. I will test drive later this weekend but in the mean time I thought I would ask your humble opinion...

6er v. the CLK63-?????

OBVIOUSLY the MB has a huge edge on the HP- but what about the rest of the car? in advance....

Clk 63 Ftmfw!!!

Ill try and stay unbiased with this being an MB board and all, but this is one easy decision.

By the 6er...im guessing you mean the M6...if your comparing the best they offer...than its the CLK 63 vs. the M6.

The M6 actually falls in the CL class category. Even so, if it was between those I would go with the Cl65

500 hp vs 507

6.3 liter sounds so much nicer than a 5.0

Torque!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and above all comfort and safety....the MB focuses on these two key factors while the BMW's sport focus overshadows the comfort.

Your kids will have a big smile on their face flying down the highway in an MB...but in the BMW...theyll be holding on and scared. IMHO

Hope this helps.

Well, He stated that he is seeking a convertible. It's even in his title so OBVIOUSLY the CL model line is NOT a consideration. I do agree that he should be measuring the M6 vs. the CLK63. These two have the same interior and power options. I agree that it's a tough choice but unless you enjoy the rough shifting the current M6's deliver, I would select the CLK63. Just a more refined cabrio.

i dont have a CLK63 but i do have a CLK. I can tell you that the CLK back seats are surprisingly spacious. There pretty decent leg room, and nice shoulder room, which is definitely adequite for two children. The m6 has console going through the entire middle section so you're going to have to pull both seats foward if you want to get both your kids back there. With that being said, I THINK that the M6 has more room in the back, if you dont mind the console. If it were up to me I'd get a M6. I mean the CLK63 is nice and all but for $100k, I think I'd for for a m6. Maybe, if you said CL63, then its a different story, but also $40k more ha ha ha.

now that i re-read your post, you said CLK63 has huge edge on HP, so I'm guessing you're talking about a 650, not a M6? that confuses me since you already have a 645. why a 650? I dont think its THAT much better. IF I'm correct, you should get a CLK63

Why the heck would his kids be holding on and scared in the back of a 6?
