Okay. I have a quick story only, no pics, because, I am clearly not fast enough with my phone. (Maybe hyp could give me some tips).
There is a rare SL500 AMG I have seen around town. It even has the "V8 Kompressor" badge on the side, single tip exhaust though. I have never had a chance to get a photo (see above). The other day, I roll up to the front of the line at a red light and as I pass a panel van in the other lane, that SL comes into view. I flip for my phone as the light turns green and then thought "I know, I will show him what a real kompressor sounds like." Well, things didn't turn out so good. He turns right about a 1/2 block down so I didn't get a pic and I was driving my ML. Dammit! I will get a pic one of these days.
haha Cal, I don't even have a cell LOL, we must catch the posuers
How dare you try to pretend to have a c300. If you want a c300 you should buy one, just because you have the badge does not mean you have the engine and brakes to go with it. Anybody who knows anything about cars will know that it is not a real c300 and if they don't then they don't know what a c300 is anyway.

I don't get it ? Do you mean c63? Why would you pretend to have a c300?

I'm getting a photo of this rare Sl500 V8 Kompressor this year. I actually pulled up next to him with my SL55 a couple years ago at a Home Depot. As I pulled out my cell for the shot, the owner came out and gave a death stare. I wimped out, and walked away.

Caught this SL (k) COMPRESSOR AMG. sorry for the crap picture, was driving and trying to get a pic at the same time!
This brings up another point ... If you're gunna pose... Pose properly... "Poser etiquette"
1) apply ***** cream to face
2) repeat the poser mantra "I am a poser, and I am pretending something I own is not what it is"
3) apply poser-Amg badge in PROPER LOCATION AND WITH PROPER ALIGNMENT!!!
4) re apply ***** cream to face
5) repeat mantra five times then pose away

I get that if your about luring people into races as a sleeper . I also get the anti- baller approach as I work for myself and have my E55 and a Carerra S but I also bought my moms 2005 Altima when she got a new car . I find that if I drive up to do a quote in a Altima people tend to not think I'm over priced like they look at me if I drive up in a Mercedes or Porsche . I like to look hungry like I need the business .
Hyperion all I was trying to say is no badges, 50 badges, why should we care unless we are worried about the status symbol of a badge. If the badge concerns you then you are the real poser.
Good point, but I would point out Opulence != Genuine love for cars. There are some people that will drive a specific brand of car or a certain badge because they want to be seen by others in a certain light. I respect their desire to do so, but it's painfully obvious when someone is not a true petrol head and they drive a car just for the image. And if someone wants to call them out on it, then so be it. It's just refreshing to meet someone on the road, at a restaurant, in a parking lot, that shares the same love for cars that you do regardless of what they drive. And when someone who drives a car just to be ostentatious, it just makes me think man... what I would do if I had their car, I would drive the sh*t out of it, because God knows that brand new E63 driven by the suburban parent who uses the manual car was brush on the paint isn't being taken over 75mph.
Boosted's approach makes sense in the business context or even in the dating context, if she enjoys being with you on light rail on the first date to go downtown, then she will definitely be the kind of woman who will stick around for the right reasons.

^ Dating context.... once I had a date and I ran late on jobs and hadn't gone across town to pick up my nice(r) car. So I was talking to her about our plans and asked if I should spend the time to go get the car or if she'd rather me there closer to on time.
She said "Impress me". i said "With a car? I hope not"
And that was the end of that. Date cancelled. lol
(And to my mind, no loss. Problem solved. Who wants that in your car anyhow?)

I would think the Ford minivan would have its advantages on a date anyway. If it was the right woman of course.
