I have to ask is the 03 CLK500 by any chance AMG? Im only asking because it has a single exhaust tip yet the OEM wheels say AMG on it, just am confused.
The only 2 AMGs in the clk class are the 55 or the 63. Also my clk55 has a dual tip on the left (but single exhaust) only, no big AMG badges on the front fender either so some believe it`s a fake one.

you missed the CLK DTM and 63 black series In fact W209 CLK is the class that got the most AMG variants. Four AMG models and each of them further has coupe/convertiable versions. Interestingly, its successor, C207/A207 E class didn't have any AMG model lol.
I love these circular "badge" discussions ;-) Personally I hate badges because they always look like useless "look at me" clutter to me. Yes I'd remove AMG badges too, which I consider to be a bit like saying "I'm cool" which of course means that you're not ;-)
I have a friend in Cali with a C63AMG who has de-badged his car too. Of course, he's cool, too, but he never says so. ;-)

How do you guys feel about the new 43 "amg" nomenclature? Do you believe that they deserve the amg badge even though the engines are not hand made?
I ask because I've got a c43 on order, but just want to see how people feel about the dilution of the brand. They're technically not fake since they're spec'd by amg, and built in affalterbach (at least the coupes are). However, I personally feel like they shouldn't have advertised them as being part of the AMG line up. Thoughts?

I think that is dilutes the brand. I don't mind the sport label the used for years and believe that the half bread cars should still be using that name. It is not a stand MB but it is no AMG either.
