No intension of selling the car ever, I will add it to my collection which is 17 at the moment.

Yep, as with 99% of custom modified cars. You are just throwing money down the drain if you intend to sell it. I have modified a few cars but I still own them so I have not lost yet.not quite true, I did modify a Montego about 20 years ago, I did have to give that away.

I think if you plan to dump money in the black series body kit on the R230, most likely your not gonna sell it due to the crazy cost of the kit. I already dumped crazy money on my SL65 (ECU/TCU, HE, IC Pump, LSD, Billet turbos, P&P cylinder heads, intakes, full custom 3 inch exhaust, top mount intercoolers, the list goes on) The kit alone is 7-10k and install is another 7-10k.
When you put 50+ grand into a car, then you must really love the car to ever think about selling it, or don't understand how it will greatly depreciate. Idk about putting an AMG badge on an SL600, but hey at least it's a V12 in it, I've seen people with SL550s put the black series kit and you wonder why. When I get my kit installed I don't plan on putting that little black series badge under the AMG, but if I keep all my other SL65 badges and I have the actually 65 engine to back it up I don't think it's posing as long as I tell people its only a 65 not a 65BS
Plus I a retractable top unlike the real BS lol. The round headlights make the car a little dated but I personally think the BS kit makes a car look timeless

I'm sorry, but putting 50k into a car is not posing. Yeah, it's not a real AMG. But at least it's in the spirit of what an AMG might have done if they shared your vision. Which they didn't else you'd have just bought an AMG and saved yourself a lot of time and trouble.
The poser cars are all just slap an emblem on and pretend it's something different than it is. A true project car is something else entirely. And it shows.

I agree V12. When I am approached, I will absolutely tell people that it is a sl600 V12 engine with a body kits and too many mods to mention.
If the black series badge was the reason they came over to talk about cars then all the more reason to have it. I am a car nut and love to talk about cars.
If I get challenged to race due to the black series badge, again all the more reason to have it. I love to race.

To each his own I guess, in my personal opinion you ruined the look of the car mostly as a result of the very out of place red accenting. You have the performance to back it up, but the AMG badge is still just so out of place on a non-AMG car you spent so much money on anyway, doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Yet, there are people on here which will say I ruined the look of my car with the wheels I chose, but at the end of the day it is not your money it is mine, and vice versa so other opinions shouldn't matter to you (which they don't seem to), but other people have the right to hold them.

It's all good man! I'm going to put little hearts on my wheels too when Hyperion and I go into the wheel cap business, you get no royalties! As for my username I put the AMG badge on the wrong side of my car too so yes I now have an AMG - doesn't even have an AMG engine.

How does this differ from folks who buy a $15 eBay badge? -Hell, I'll sell you a badge, clutched from the mouth of a rainbow-shtting unicorn for 50G's. Posing as an AMG vehicle? -Yes indeed.
If we can agree to respect and concede on the impressive dollar figure dispensed for this particular "clone" as being nothing more than a talking point, then how is this car set apart from other cars which pose as real AMG vehicles?

The AMG badge is on the correct side of the car for the R231 BLACK series that mine is posing as. All the new AMG cars have the badge on the left. You run with the hearts thing as it seems to be your style, I will stick with mine.

Well my car is over 50 grand into it by the end of the day idk about F1's but based on the mods,
R231 kit is going for about 13 grand
Install can be anywhere from 7-10 grand
Speedriven Intercooler/Intake set up another 4-5 grand
ECU/TCU prob another grand
From my understanding he's opting for billet turbos which is gonna be 3-4 grand
The install to do it on an R230 M275 is another 3-4 grand
Brembo big brake kit god knows how much but I'll say 5 grand
Already that's 35-40 grand and idk if there was a trunk tank, lsd, interrior mods, exhust, cost of wheels etc but you can see where it's going this is becoming a show car more then a poser.

Don't let the posers on this forum cramp your style. Let them rock their stock cars and lecture everyone who dares to be different. It's your car and you can do wtf ever you want with it.
Also, somebody with AMG in their user name and a Euro plate talking about posing always makes my day

don't get me wrong, I think the car is fantastic, I just don't see the need to put the badges on there that aren't correct. I guess I'd rather have an insane SL600 than an imitation SL65...the people who would be impressed by the black series badge are going to recognize right away that it's not a BS...well, maybe it is a BS....
