GRRR..Someone tried to break into my trunk
I was away on business this week in Norfolk, VA and come out of the hotel Friday morning to see that someone had punched in my rear center brake light I assume to try to get into the trunk. Fortunately there was no other damage, to the trunk or spoiler. I went into the hotel and asked the desk clerk for the manager (who was not in yet) and then asked what the procedure was for submitting a claim with the hotel since it happened RIGHT outside the front door (I was in the first non-handicapped space) and was told "we don't do anything, I could call the police for you" with an "I don't give a crap" attitude. After talking to the manager later in the day they did agree to cover the damage.
MB of Virginia Beach had the part and I just finished replacing the light, pretty easy to do actually, I'm just pissed that it happened.
Is there a way to open the trunk from the brake light area on a CLK55 if the car is locked? I could trip the trunk with it unlocked from there but that was all I could do.
Also is there an after market alarm that will interface with the car and not interfere with the normal key functions? Does anyone have a personal recommendation?
