Green Filter vs AFE vs K&N.

Im going to be buying some filters for my 02 55. Has anyone had any experiences with either of these three filter brands. Evosport says green filters but i've heard that they tend to fall apart. I have read somes posts that say do not run k&ns because the oil tends to screw up the MAS. I haven't really heard anything about the AFE filters. Let me know Thanks for everyones help.

yeah...i had some issues w/ K&N's in my 430. it caused CEL off and on at first...and i wonder if it began to foul up the MAF b/c the idle became a little rough shortly afterwards. i don't plan on putting them in my 55!

I've been running with K&N for a little over a year now and haven't ran into any problems. They've been cleaned once and no problem.

Green Filters

I did my research last year and came to the conclusion that Green Filters are the best. They were about $100 for the pair but... no problems at all and I felt a little difference in power...

Green Filters

I agree. My research indicated that Green Filters were the best. I have had K&N in another car as well. Since the Green Filter doesn't need oiling and allows more air than the K&N (I believe), it makes for an easy choice.

Where did you find the green filters for a decent buy...anyone have links?

$100 for the pair sounds like a good price

These are fantastic filters. You don't hear much about the in the States but in Europe they are widely used. I have a CL 500 and wouldn't use any other. They are a little bit more expensive but worth the money.

Evosport just called Green Filter USA has an at least 30 day nation wide back order on filter #2295. So I did some research and Green Filter is moving their production factory from France to the USA causing product sortage. Called some company is PA. and got the filters shipped w/ the cleaning kit for $126.00.

Who told you the green filter doesnt need oiling? It does need oiling. I just did mine right now.

I run Greens on all my cars. Neil at Euroteck is a sponsor and has great customer service!

K&N's ... Just let them dry in the sun for a day before you install them. Any air filter that uses oil - k&n, green etc. you have to make sure you do not over oil when re-chargin and also fairly dry when you first purchase.

I've had K&Ns and Green Filters on my W208 and I prefer K&N. In fact, I've just ordered a set for my CLK55!

Looking for a new toy.
FYI with Greens, I gained 9 hp over the stock paper filters in back to back runs on the dyno. Not bad for a hundred bucks.
