I sent the CLK to the paint shop today to get all the nicks, bumps, dings etc taken care of and painting the whole car. Was looking at some color options and I'm not 100% sure yet what color I should paint her... Need opinions! Stock black or some other black (metallic)?

I wanna murder it out but people tell me that will make the car look less classy and surely that will take away from value in the long run. But I really considered murdering it out.

Carbon Black Metallic from BMW, mainly for M3s. It's kind of a black/blue metallic, changes hue at different angles, looks black in the shade, dark blue in the sun.

true indeed...but i think the only people buying CLK's are people who've had CLK's or 3 series BMW's...i'm almost sure come time to sell, u wouldnt have a problem finding an enthusiast who thinks a murdered out CLK is THE *****...which i think it would be...just somethin u dont see daily...either way u go...good luck!

I'm also in the process of painting my car. I wanted a color change but its so much work and a lot of money. I going back to either the silver thats on the car or iridium silver on the Black series. Stay with the orig. or something really similar or close so that you dont have to jamb the car or paint the engine bay.

yeah thats what I'm trying to do...stay within the same color scheme so I don't have to jamb it all out. But there are many black color codes out there that are nice...I'm just not sure how good they would look on the clk. I'll have to look into the M3 crabon black metallic. I think the paint shop already ordered the paint so I don't have too long to change my mine ; )

you don't have to take the entire car apart to paint it back the same color. They only removed a few panles off my car mainly the trim panles around the windows, door handles, badges and the door mouldings. If you do change colors you have to remove pretty much every panel possible. I'm only payin 2 grand for body work and paint (total out the door) but thats b/c I work at a dealership and a guy at the body shop here is doing the work for me.

it would look sick flat black with a clear coat. there was a R GTI concept that was done in red and flat black with clear and it was sick.
