Congrats Chappy! The 24th of July would make 4 yrs of marriage for my wife and I. Right now we're enjoying the "Single Married" (no children!) So my cars are my babies for now. I can't wait for her to become a doctor so that I can retire early and buy more toys

Nothing to brag about here. But I'm a US Postal carrier in a wealthy area. I used to have a 03 350z first owner. Sold it last month for the 02 CLK 55 with low miles and payed only $4k more. The C36 is my daily driver. I'm 37 single but have a steady GF.

I hate to agree with you but it is the truth..

When I first moved to America almost 10 yrs ago,
first thing that I've noticed was American loan system and spending habbit makes this country going pretty well..

if someone has got to save in order to buy luxury and depreciating items e.g. AMGs, that means he can't afford it..

i bought the 2006 SL55 and 2008 CL500 in cash and that's probably 1% of my cash.. that's what i will call it 'normal'.. if one has to worry about payments etc... i mean why bother driving AMGs..? a C200 or 325i will do fine too...

but it just amuses me when seeing people with jobs as middle level managers or even lower (e.g. engineers) driving AMGs... that does not even match with their positions ... don't u guys afraid your bosses will get pissed or something?

How can the economy be so bad if I spend all my money all the time?

as for me.....

I'm a part time drug dealer. On my days off I test **** on the web to make sure it works properly.
Graduated from Uconn, Go Huskies!
I'm old enough to know better but I feel young enough to not give a ****.
I own both the CLK55 and the ML430 outright.
I'm engaged (sorry ladies) - she has a 2008 C300 sport (financing)
No kids....yet.

Did I leave anything out?

I don't care what other people think. I drive the cars I own because I LOVE THEM!!! I have had my 911 for over 15 years.

I did not care what any one said when I bought it. I still don't care what people say about the cars my wife and I own now.

I think most of the people on this board are smarter about their savings than your assumptions. I believe there are a good number of people on this board who paid cash for their cars. Also don't let the job titles fool you, people make a lot more money than what you expect and most of us like to keep a low profile when it comes to disclosing our worth. I really think you would be shocked if you knew the net worth of some of the regulars on this board.

I guess that comment about engineers was about me just so you know I am a blue collar worker I don't get dirty and don't break a sweat but I get paid very well for what I do I won't tell you exactly what I make but it is xxx,xxx so buying a used AMG is not going to break the bank I could buy a new CLK but I can't see spending that much money on something that will be worth 1/2 a year later. So thank you for looking down on all of us regular non millionaire people and have a nice day.
