Just filled up my 04 CLK55 yesterday and was a little surprised at the $50+ fill up. The $4.05 Super (in Houston) price surprised me but it will not deter my driving habits (5.4 V8 = therapy). I guess the question to you guys (just out of curiosity) is at what price do you consider changing your driving habits?
BTW when I drove the CLK from Dallas to Houston (steady 70mph) I averaged 24.1 MPG! I was pleasantly surprised. Around town I usually get around 16 or 17 MPG (per computer) or around 220 miles before my reserve light comes on.

That sounds about right. Our gas in Los Angeles runs for ~$4.20 a gal (91 octane of course).Originally Posted by hrothgar02

I am just going to save up all my driving so I can enjoy the car at open throttle. The results of a little trip I made are in the post below. Have to enjoy the car....agree with the "therapy" comment above..Originally Posted by hrothgar02

haha, i wish we still had some of those prices here...$4.29 is the cheapest around my area...93 that is...
No worries about gas at this time....more concerned with tires only lasting 1000 miles during track season....

Costco is where i fill but I really don't check the prices either.
About the mileage, I get 18-20 around town and on my last Portland to Seattle run I saw 26.8 mpg, doing 10 over the limit, which made me pretty happy.
