MPG and Gas Prices

Just filled up my 04 CLK55 yesterday and was a little surprised at the $50+ fill up. The $4.05 Super (in Houston) price surprised me but it will not deter my driving habits (5.4 V8 = therapy). I guess the question to you guys (just out of curiosity) is at what price do you consider changing your driving habits?

BTW when I drove the CLK from Dallas to Houston (steady 70mph) I averaged 24.1 MPG! I was pleasantly surprised. Around town I usually get around 16 or 17 MPG (per computer) or around 220 miles before my reserve light comes on.

That sounds about right. Our gas in Los Angeles runs for ~$4.20 a gal (91 octane of course).

I am just going to save up all my driving so I can enjoy the car at open throttle. The results of a little trip I made are in the post below. Have to enjoy the car....agree with the "therapy" comment above..

AMG
No worries about gas at this time....more concerned with tires only lasting 1000 miles during track season....

Costco is where i fill but I really don't check the prices either.

About the mileage, I get 18-20 around town and on my last Portland to Seattle run I saw 26.8 mpg, doing 10 over the limit, which made me pretty happy.
