G37S VS CLK55
Here we go guys:

My G37s Vs my CLK55
I was driving the G37,and was using the paddles to shift,my girl was recording. My Cousin was driving the CLK55,he kept it in C mode(i dont know why
The G was excellent and kept up with the CLK till about 75-80 mph, after that the 55 just kept on pulling. At some point when i zoom in on the speedometer,i was thinking is the G still pulling??because the 55 was far gone!!!
Still the G made me proud, and was doing excellent!

LOL! Belameca I know exactly where you guys were in that video. That's the 90 freeway in Culver City! I take that freeway home from work every single day! How ironic is that Now on to the race. That was not a real race at all. The CLK started out in front it seems the whole time. Nevertheless, it looks like the CLK could have owned it but since you own both cars I'm not sure if you were holding back in the G37 for the sake of appeasing the AMG buds here in the forum No pun intended whatsoever but I'd like to see a more....hmmm how should I say this "unbiased" race Thanks for sharing though.
what are you talking about??
this was in pueblo de ensenada donde esta la biblioteca/Mexico!
Honestly,i agree with you!
I was holding back with my G37 because i was behind him and i didn't know when he will floor it.So once he did,so did i.
As i said, knowing both of my cars well,i have to say that:
Off the Line,G37s has no chance
Roll let's say 20 to 70-75 the 55 will take it a car or two, after that it is all CLK55.
I'am however very pleased the way the G drives! The downshifts with a throttle blimp, the VQ engine with it's wonderfull torque curve. It is really a great Car!Not slow at all.I say with the right driver the G might give the 55 a run for its money.
The thing is....once the 55 is rolling,it's rolling fast!
The HP numbers are not bad either.

Okay that's more like it. Thanks for being honest and a good sport about it It's cool to know that you enjoy nice cars period. It's so easy to be bias and lean toward one car over another for many reasons. The new G37 does have a nice exterior look and the power is definitely there for cars in its class. However, I can't stand the interior look and feel of the G. A friend of mines have a G35 with a body kit, pulley, intake on 20's and it looks very nice from the outside but inside, that dashboard & clock succs **** I'll definitely be sharing this story with him because he wants to race me so badly but I always say no because the badge on my car says AMG. Enough said. No need to prove a point and risk getting a ticket or having an accident. Now if we were on a track then it would be different but on the streets? Nahhhh, I'll past

Oh yeah the CLK 550 AMG has 382 bhp and nearly 400lbs of torque. So to compare a G35 (stock) with 275 bhp (automatic) and 293 bhp (manual) is just wrong. If your friend has a bit of sense he would ONLY race a CLK 550 for fun

What do u mean by CLK 550 AMG?? There is no such thing as CLK 550 AMG...or u mean AMG package???

CLK Models
YES!
1996–2002 (W208)
The first-generation CLK was introduced in 1996, 3 years after the 1st generation (W202) C-Class model. The launch of the CLK also marked Mercedes' first foray into the mid-sized coupe market.
Less expensive than the sporty SL-Class convertibles, the first generation CLK cabriolet was the most successful convertible Mercedes-Benz ever offered; 41,520 were sold in the United States from 1999 to 2003, and more than 115,000 were sold throughout the world.
Models offered in the first generation were the CLK200(136 hp), CLK200 Kompressor(192 hp), CLK230 Kompressor(193 hp), CLK320(218 hp), CLK430(275 hp) and the CLK55 AMG(362 hp). All were available in both coupé and convertible form.
The CLK320 coupe was introduced in the 1997 model year, powered by a 3.2 L V6 engine. The CLK320 cabriolet and the 4.3 L V8-powered CLK430 coupe appeared in 1999. A CLK430 cabriolet joined the lineup in 2000. The high-performance CLK55 AMG coupé, which was introduced first in Europe in 2000 and then in the US in 2001, was powered by the "M113" 5.4 L V8 engine. The CLK55 AMG cabriolet became available in 2002, the last year of this body style.
2003–present (W209)
The CLK coupé was redesigned for 2003, with the cabriolet following in 2004. The current generation of the CLK-Class is 2.4 inches (61 mm) longer, 0.7 inches (18 mm) wider and 1.1 inch (28 mm) higher than its predecessor.
The CLK320 features a 3.2 L, 18-valve single overhead cam (SOHC) V6 engine and a five-speed automatic transmission. The base price is US$46,000 for the coupé and US$53,600 for the cabriolet. The CLK320 was replaced by the CLK350 for 2006.
The CLK350 features a 3.5 L, 24-valve dual overhead cam (DOHC) V6 engine and a seven-speed automatic transmission. The base price is US$45,750 for the coupé and US$53,700 for the cabriolet.
The CLK500 features a 5.0 L, 24-valve SOHC V8 engine and a seven-speed automatic transmission. The base price is US$54,600 for the coupé and US$62,200 for the cabriolet. The CLK500 was replaced by the CLK550 for 2007.
The CLK550 features a 5.5L 32-valve V-8 engine and a seven-speed automatic transmission. The base price is US$55,675 for the coupé.
The CLK55 AMG features a 5.4 L, 24-valve SOHC V8 engine and a 5-speed automatic transmission. The base price is US$69,900 for the coupé and US$87,000 for the cabriolet. The CLK55 AMG coupé was dropped in North America after the 2005 model year, though the cabriolet is still offered. The CLK55 was replaced by the CLK63 for 2007. However, the CLK 55 AMG actually accelerates 0 - 60 mph in 4.2 seconds: faster than the CLK 63 AMG, since the CLK 55 AMG is lighter in wieght.
The CLK63 AMG features a 6.2L V8 with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Available in both Coupé and Cabriolet, the CLK63 boasts 481 hp (354 kW) and 465 ft·lbf (630 newton m) of torque. Compared to its predecessor the CLK63 has 31% more power and 23% more torque. The CLK63 is currently being used as the safety car in Formula One. It accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds.
