I've been hearing a strange noise in my car the last few days. Found it coming from just inside the top right rear fender. It's a low pitch whir which cycles on for 2 seconds then off for 5 seconds before stating again. I will probably pull the trunk liner out tonight to get at the source but was wondering if anyone else has come across it?

 

hopefully it is something simple. but do you remember seeing my post on the right rear emergency brake spring? it started out as something like that, small audible rattle and then full on metal on metal scraping.
