My CLK500 came with #1 pads, but i don't know about your CLK55. My suggestion is to have the springs installed and then decide if you need to change your pads. Hopefully you will be fine with whatever pads you have on there right now.

Hey the pad is the rubber thing that is in between the spring and the chase of the car. it's there so it prevents metal on metal action!!!!

i have pad #4 on right now and non in the front. some people tell me run with no pads and others to leave the sock pads in there!!!! what should i do!????!

There's no pad for the front (strut) and only for the rear (shock). H&R are well know to drop the rear much more then the front and that cause the fender gap to look very un-even. I like the look of even fender gap. I would recommend you go with 1 size thicker then the stock pad.

pad sizes typically increase a few mm at a time. I think there are about 6 sizes ranging from 5mm to about 20ish mm. (ie, 1 bump to 6 bump) If you search, you'll find exact part numbers and mm thicknesses.
