Willow on Monday March 23
it is the big track by the way!
anything i should know or look out for. this is my first time at the track.
Turn 2 is a double apex with the first early, drift out about half way, and the second late (there's a marker). You'll carry a lot of speed out of 2, which might cause problems for 3.If you're in turn 3 and that little voice in your head says "Quick, the brakes!" - don't. If the rear suspension is unloaded there, the back end will come around, and you'll leave the track backwards.
The first two laps, pay attention to turn 5. It's a downhill entrance and an uphill exit. To me, 5 is the key to a good lap (which means I'm typically passed down the back). The entire turn 4 exit is used to set up for turn 5. BTW, the far right of 5 is slippery. Get 5 wrong and you'll lose MPH through 6, 7, and 8. Did I mention I'm usually passed there?

Get as close to the apex of 9 as possible. If you notice the dip, you're in the right spot.
Fresh brake fluid, right? Near new pads too, correct?
best lap time was a 1:56 (tires melted)
now trying to get a streets of willow day going will post about this when things start moving.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
have you ever been to the streets? i am thinking of getting a group together to go and was wondering if you were interested as your name and the fact that you live in LA?
Looks like you're running 18s....pricey rubber if you scrub them off quickly.
If you do more days, consider picking up a set of used 17s (I snagged a scuffed set of AMG monoblocks for the track for $260). 17" tires are much cheaper too!
Viva la W208!

Actually they are 17's
I am running 245-40-17 front and 255-40-17 in back to help kill the under steer and it works

Got to LOVE the
W208, just a beauty from every angel
NO rubbing now, but when I had 19s then yes!!
I want to run 255 in the front and 275 out back I will be able to hold a lot more speed through the corners if I had more grab!
I was sliding (all 4 wheels) through the up hill section coming out of corner 3!

You've got more nerve that I would have - driving a cabrio!
CLK55 coupes are very reasonable now....you could snap up a fixed roof verion (would be much safer).
But I want a low mileage one.
I was also thinking of getting an older C (W202) and transplanting a 55 engine and trans!
With a striped interior and just have that as a track car!
