03-04 coupe no quad exahust?

I see all the 2005 coupes having quad exhaust but not the 2003 or 2004 coupes. Why was that?

Don't know why. Maybe MB realized that quad exhaust would give the CLK a more expensive look. Before 2005 only the high end models got quad exhaust like S55, SL55, CL55, E55. But the SLK32, C55 and CLK55 only had one side exhaust. Maybe MB was trying to move the CLK up to the higher end look.

Its all crap anyways. Marketing ploy for slow sales? Update the look...keep it fresh with quad exhaust and 18 inch wheels.

Quad Exhaust....hmmmm

My 04 CLK exhaust is fine with me....the CLK is so narrow in the back to the point it looks kind of weird seing all those pipes from the rear Maybe if the car was wider in the back just a tad bit it would look much better. Then again, this is just my opinion. I'm not making fun of anybody's style but soooooo many cars on the road have quads now. I don't know maybe when I get bored I'll change mines to quads too!

CLS 55 AMG - one of the last off the AMG line
I would love to put a twin exhaust on the back of my 04 CLK. I see the spare tire well shape as a major impediment to that. In South Africa where I live that is the two biggest exterior differences between the 04- and later models.

AMG brake callipers on the rear tires as well on 05+ , and twin double exhaust pipes. Out of curiosity, does yours also have Mercedes OEM rear callipers or are they AMG like the front ?

C55 came with quad , C32 came with only dual tips

Yeah, the quad is exhaust on the CLK is part of that "refreshening" that MBZ likes to do to cars every couple years. Change the bumper, add some quad tips and wheels and charge $10K more.

I like the clean, conservative look of the dual-tip exhaust. Less boy-racer on a smaller car like the CLK

No AMG calipers on the rear of my 55 AMG. Mine is a 2003 with single/dual exhaust as well. I painted the rear calipers silver to match the fronts though.
