The initial pipe before the primary cat is ~2.0" OD (by #30). After the primary pipes its 2.35" OD pipe all the way back until it becomes a single pipe then it becomes larger at the Y-pipe. For the cats you can get 2.5" cats and slide them over the piping that should do the job just fine.

hope that helps.

As long as you use 300-cell metal core cats and you make sure the welds are strong and there are no leaks, then they should not cause a CEL. 200-cell or lower and you start getting too close to the threshold. With that said there is a decent amount of power to be picked up by the primaries as well (more so than the secondaries) which is where majority of the power comes from on medium/long tube headers that delete primary cats.

just for the record. If you have a W208, it won't fit. W209 you can probably squeeze it in ,but W208s have that very tight crossover pipe so it will be very tough.

Secondaries will definitely work. Primaries the exhaust shop may have to "make them work" by doing some custom fab work but again its up to the exhaust shop. If you are weary then start off with 2nd cats and do primaries later. its up to you.

hope that helps.

No, but I would not recommend it on a V6, your car will drone like crazy. Better to go with high flows to break up a lot of that unwanted resonance & rasp.

ahaha I wont do that i was just curious. Anyway, im going to order those high flow cats soon. And should I replace the stock pipe (the one after primary) to the larger one ? and what size ? 3" pipe maybe? I guess I should have say stock pipe btwn the primary and the secondary.

I've now installed the RT or Magnum 300 cell highflow cats recommended by AMS in the seconday position. Sound is a little louder, not much. They seem to work just fine and the car, per the butt dyno, shows huge improvement in acceleration going from 55 to 110. I will dyno after my intake mods are finished and installed.

Tump,

After a few weeks the sound should develop even more, it takes some time for 2nd cats to really break in and the ECU to adjust, once it does the sound should be deeper & meaner.
