Does anyone have any pictures or know how to jack up a 430 cabrio with a floor jack without doing damage. Can you jack up the back by the differential. Thanks Jim
From the side of a CLK430/55 you can see jack covers in ground effects. Looking under the car, just in from the jack covers, near the frame rails, you’ll see rubber jack points. I use those (see photo). If I’m going to put the rear on jack stands, I use a floor jack to lift the car from the diff, slip the jack stands under the rubber jack points, and lower it on the jack stands.
If I’m putting the front on jack stands, I use the front rubber jack points and use the jack stands under the a-arms. That’s what “I” do. There may be a safer way. Whatever you do; be careful, use a concrete garage floor, and don’t overload the jack stands.
