Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Coupe
Yes, very easy.
The front cover of the steering wheel is removed along with the air bag.
Inside, you will see the wire connections for the steering wheel buttons and paddles.
Disconnect these and unbolt the steering via the big bolt right in the middle.
Put the new steering wheel in place and do the big bolt up in the middle.
Connect the wires up and put the fornt cover of the steering wheel along with air bag in place.
You transfer the steering wheel cover and air bag from your old wheel to the new steering wheel.
I did not do the swap myself, but watched as my guy at Mercedes did it.
Took about 10 minutes.
When you remove the cover from your existing wheel and remove the air bag, you will notice that the steering wheel is slotted onto a cog with lots of small teeth.
The top "tooth" will have a mark on it, presumably to identify the central postion.
Put the steering wheel in the dead-straight position before removing it.
Take note of which tooth is directly at the top, for when you install your new wheel.
I say this because my old wheel was actually located on the cog one tooth off from the marked tooth.
Install the new wheel on the cog in the same postion as your old wheel.

swap out for regular clk55 AMG 03
My understanding is that retro fitting to a CLK w209 late '03 model would be a lot of mucking around, can anyone confirm this please? Thanks
