It appears to be designed to give a PC access to an ECU. After physical connectivity is established, I'd need FULL instructions as to what to do. Maybe those instructions are on the CD.

It says it supports ME 2.1 and ME 7.2.8. Our CLK's have ME 2.8.

I wouldn't touch it, and wouldn't recommend that anyone else try it (the ECU is a couple of thousand dollars) BUT if you buy it, and it's good for anything (paper weight doesn't count) I'll give you $10 to report back with details. Hey, now it's half price. If your car goes into an electronic coma, I'll donate $10 to the "Chappy's car needs expensive electrical parts fund". Paypal OK?

We need to find somebody named "Mikey".

Or am I showing my age? That commercial was on TV when I was a kid. To those named Mikey that are worried, the real star didn't die (did anyone else hear the rumor as a kid?)

and your ECU may survive just fine. Now, who wants to be a MBWorld hero?

I remember those rumours as well. But, times were different back then....I was raised on oatmeal and powdered milk. Life cereal was a special treat, as was going to McDonalds after our team won a swim meet.

5 kids in our family (Dad is a Phd and Mom quit her teaching job to raise us) - remember the days of no seat belts in the back of a station wagon? Amazing we survived lol...

Today, gratitude has been removed from the dictionary.

Theoretically it would be possible to delimit your car with this, but in reality unless you know what you are doing, it isn't going to happen. These ECUs have many layers of protection and are extremely complicated to set up.

It is probably worth spending the extra money and having it done professionally. If you mess up the programming, you won't destroy the ECU, but it is a huge pain to set things straight.

without the software files that is nothing more than a paper weight, and the seller knows it. The value of an ECU tune is all in the software files, not the hardware that read & writes it. You will need the proper flashing software as well on the laptop, some are better than others.

Save your money and spend it one some hardware mods, software really doesn't do that much on NA 55 AMGs anyways.

Has the date been selected in December?? I'm more interested in just delimiting than having the car tuned.

What shop? I'm in Alpharetta.
