Dude, by the time you get 40 benzes, it will be too late for the people try to make travel arrangements.
At least open it to friends of people on the list with other makes. You could split it up and do all benz sessions and other make sessions.
You're going to kill the idea if you wait too long.

Not enough interest....
Sad news to report my friends. It looks like our ambitious goals of securing Road Atlanta, as a private event, will be placed on the back burner for now. Thank you for the interest! Another consideration being examined is to move the event later in the year (fall), possibly with some support events over a weekend in the Atlanta area - with more lead time - we may be able to secure the track with a commitment of greater than 40.

clk 500 (wifey's); 350Z roadster (daily driver); 350Z coupe (track car)
Sorry to hear it did'nt work out. I've seen people try to put together their own events on other forums. Its not easy getting enough people to commit!!!!
Another suggestion: MBCA is having a 2 day event at VIR June 10/11 (full course). I think last year it was $395. Their will be LOTS of MB's, but of course other brands also.
Just a thought

We've done several less expensive tracks in the past, just on a much smaller scale. I've never done VIR...I've heard it's a blast!

Chappy-
Any chance we could open this even up to a limited number of other makes? Personally I would be happy to run with some Porsche, BMW's, or... if it meant we had a day at Road Atlanta.

Either of you two thought about doing Road Atlanta with PCA? It's by far the best organized of the bunch. Too late to register for April-next session in June. I need some fellow Benz's out here to kick some Porsche butt. I get to play with them at the club race weekend after this and in April.

Follow their post on the right hand side of the page to clubregistration.net.
Once you've created an ID you can browse for upcoming events. It's also the only way to register for any of their events.

Usually get 4 sessions on 1 day, three on the other depending on your run group. They're also starting to work in passing anywhere except bridge to 12 and through esses if you're in a solo run group.

Chin is $299 for one day on 05/17. I'm signed up with a half dozen other AMG peeps. Novice drivers will also have to pay for an instructor ($75)
There are only 6 spots left.

I'm tempted but that's a lot of money for 1 day plus joining Chin plus $75 for a check ride. To compare, I'm at RA for the next three days during the PCA club race. I'm solo for 10 twenty minute sessions PLUS a 1 hour enduro for a total cost of $400 and I don't have a lard butt (does make a difference in car handling) in the right seat to seat to see if I know the line. I'll send you a PM. Thanks for including me.
