you should be able to open up trunk with your key,

and that's what I did last time. I opened up with spare key and crawl to the front seat : )

Ya there should be a positive wire coming from the trunk to the engine bay, I think it's on the drivers side with a little black cover...good luck...

thanks guys...but are there any pics?

mine is a 2002 clk55. I have searched and nothing is clearly labeled.

my key does not work on the trunk...but it does work on the door.

If anybody has anymore insight please let me know...I really want to move the car today because I have an appointment to get some window tints today :P

Power point location

It's top secret location is between the washer tank and electrical junction box.
Under the black plastic cover you will see the yellow point in the picture. That's a 12vdc terminal to put power on to open the trunk.

I also have a 2002 CLK 55 AMG Cabriolet with a dead battery-my husband and I tried this with no luck-we can't figure out what we did wrong. . . .called roadside assistance for them to come in the morning. Any thoughts?

If you connected the + jumper onto the + terminal in the engine bay and you clipped the (-) to a ground, it should have started. If your jumper cables are rusted, you might not be making good contact.

Dumb question - but if your battery dies how do you pop the hood?

Am I missing something?

The hood release in the driver compartment is not electrical, it's a mechanical connection with the hood latch.

Thanks for responding. MB Roadside assistance came in the morning and was nice enough to give us an "orientation" to our new but gently used AMG. We learned alot-plan on not letting this happen again

Hahaha, I had to jump my other car with my MB and spent a good 30 minutes under the hood going "whhhhaaaat?" I couldn't find the elusive trunk terminals.
