2005 clk 55
Hey guys, i ordered EBC red pads.. and when i took my wheels off i noticed one of my rotors had a ring on it.. its on my passenger side.. i understand you cannot cut cross drilled rotors.. Think i should just slap on the pads? or change the rotor? if so what make? factory is $650 each!!!

Take a micrometer and measure the thickness of the rotor. Rotors have a "minimum thickness limit while performing maintenance" spec. If they are above the limit, slap on new pads and call it a day.

My rotors are good for two sets of brake pads. After the first set, they are always within spec for the second set. Hopefully yours are too.

"IF" that lip is only on one rotor, the caliper "may" be sticking on that side. A good way to tell is to take an infrared pyrometer and check the temps on both fronts rotors. After a drive, leave the wheels on and quickly check the rotor temps. If the side with the lip is considerably hotter than the other side, that's not a good sign.
