Continuously putting in Oil - w209 CLK55

I have brought myself a w209 CLK55 with 50k mile on the clock and it seems to be drinking oil...

What might cause the car the do this? I can't find a leak but every few hundred miles it asks for another litre of oil - this can't be right?

Help pls

Rocker cover gasket and its leaking onto the undertray at a guess????

Gas it will drink - not oil!

I usually add 1-2 quarts in between oil changes. without your refill intervals no one will be able to have a clue really.

The oil level sensor may be bad. You may want to look into this before adding any more oil.

If the car is actually burning oil, a leak down test can be used to determine what's gone bad. Some M113's that have seen a steady diet of non-MB approved dino oil have been known to consume oil.

curious if excess oil were put into the car at oil change. Is there some kinda overflow it will drip out? My car has a had a slow leak for some 4 months now from service at the dealer, i check manually at the dip stick and its topped.

No leaks, but my CLK55 has been known to need 1 quart in between oil changes, which is once every 10,000 miles.
