Brake question

Just purchased a 2007 CLK550 with 39k on the odometer. The brakes are fine, smooth and no noise, at lower speeds but when I get to 70mph and apply the brakes I can feel a small pulsation(?) in the pedal and hear a small noise. Any idea if there is a problem?

Sounds like the rotors are out of spec. Rotors are a normal wear part on these cars. I have to change mine with every other set of pads. Some last longer, whereas others replace there rotors with every brake job. You may wish to have them mic'd.

It could also be wheel bearings, but I find that harder to believe.

Thanks for your input. I found the rear tires were not evenly worn and had flat spots. I put on a new set of Continental tires and the brakes appear to be fine now.
