ESP controller CLK55 - help please!
I've had a major issue today! My CLK55 (w209) has a box under the passenger seat - I believe its the ESP controller?
As the seat was moved forward it has caught the box and bent the circuit board. Almost all electrics on the car have now failed and and I'm getting error:
ESP defective!
visit workshop!
My windows have been stuck down but car is drivable... lights flash but no indicators.
Can anyone confirm what this box is under the passenger seat?
Does anyone know a part number?
Any advice?
Many thanks in advance

That sounds like the seat control unit you are describing. Also from your description it sounds as if your interior CAN network has shut down due to the control unit that is mangled causing a short. If you unplug it, and make sure no wires are pinched, you should be able to close your windows, as well as all the other electronics that have failed should work.
The part number is also printed on the control unit.

Thanks so much for your help - just to confirm, is there anything else under these seats?
Because the seat is electric, I'm having difficulty getting to the unit...
If I buy a new / used seat controller, will it need to be programmed?
Thanks!

There are some codings that may need to be set.
If you are really having diffuculty getting to it, see if you have access to the 4 E12 bolts that hold in the seat, and unbolt the seat. If not you will have to get to the connector for the fore/aft movement and jump it with 12v.
