LOVING CLK55!!!
Hi all,
Been enjoying the car...so much fun.
3 quick questions:
1) anyone have squeeky driver seat, esp when going over bumps, etc? just use some lubricant? i heard it's common issue for W209's.
2) HK systems WAY better than the MB Bose system. anyone do SIMPLE upgrades of hi's and subs/amps? i read somewhere it uses 2 ohm speakers?
3) last but not least, hearing front AMG rotors on my 2006 CLK55's $900 - I saw Autohauz was $260/pr - anyone think it's ok vs. OEM?
Thx in advance.
Patrick

Front rotors are expensive. $400-$500 for the fronts was what I paid, and did the job myself. They're friggin' manhole covers so it's not likely you'll get around much of the cost.
Squeaks, and rattles seem to happen to me moreso in the winter, but none as you've described. One by one however I find out where they are, and it's usually needing lubrication or a shim of some sort.

i recently picked up rotors for an 05 clk55 and they were about 1100 shipped
the strength in the dollar may help a bit but these are genuine full floating brembos
and i have to believe if you can find aftermarkets they will most likely be conventional one piece design which will
good news is that almost anyone can change the rotors and pads on these
if the old rotors are stuck to the hubs, hit them with a torch and watch them wiggle themselves free

Re the squeaky seats, many people have said it’s due to the plastic base of the seat rubbing against the leather. This can be quickly checked by placing something between the two and seeing if the squeaking stops. Some have used a small piece of cardboard, a book of matches, etc.
