Having seen the SL65 Black in person, I do agree with your preferred design changes (i.e. vents less raised and rounded like the SL65 black series). Btw, what is the status of your mass order of 20 of those hoods with the above modifications? Have you ordered them? Also, what is the weight of this carbon fiber hood? Is it substantially lighter than the OEM hood? Let me know, as I may be interested (depending the price). I just wanted to make sure if I decide to get a carbon fiber hood from you, that there would be no issue with the fitment and that it won't require any kind of midification in order to place it on the car. I want it to fit right in, just like a glove, like the original hood. email me once you have the hoods on hand.

I received the hood about a month ago and it's been at the body shop since then. The owner who does all the work on my vehicle is suffering from really bad pancreatitis so work on my vehicle has been stalled.

The car has been reverted back to stock and the hood fits just as the stock one does. I don't know when the vehicle will be fully ready. The yellow marker tape is to make sure the aerocatch pins I am installing will be even. Hood has been sanded down for priming.

I ordered double sided carbon and it is fantastic from the bottom. This pic is of terrible quality but it looks great in person.

I've never weighed it, but picking it up it seems much lighter. I emailed the fabricator to get the exact number.

Please let me know once you find out, as I would like to know of the exact weight. This hood looks so much better than the first one with the fitment issues. Thanks for the great pics! I am looking forward to seeing your new pictures of this hood installed, painted, and with the aerocatch pins!!

I had a chance to weigh the hood and painted it weighs 25 lbs. this is compared to 42 lbs for the stock hood. I would estimate about 22 lbs left unpainted.
