Just wanted to share these pics before going back to the stock hood.

The hood required modifications in order for it to fit.

I used to love staring at my car, but now I have to try to convince myself that I like the hood. Would be an easy decision if each time I looked at the car I loved it.

Custom 1 off secondary to fitment issues. Stone carbon made it for me. It is carbon fiber. Once it comes off it will be for sale. It will require modification by an experienced shop to make it fit. Also the iridium silver is hard to color match so you might need to have the fenders blended.

if you were to sell, how much? do you plan to get another custom hood? the paint might match mine so I might be a serious buyer as I was looking to buy the exact hood and leave the vents unpainted

Gorgeous man. I have to agree, it fits the look and lines of the BS perfectly. You did an amazing job if you specced the design for that.

The lower hood locks had to be placed under the radiator frame, the upper lock springs were shortened. And then the body guy did some other minor adjustments.

I think that the stone carbon hood would have fit fine, but they were making the mold from a hood that had some front end damage. This hood had a really bad starting point. Originally, I contacted them because they had hoods for the w209, but then they told me that they needed hood to make the mold from. I procured a slightly damaged hood and then sent it to them, that was what created all the issues.

No, they want me to send them my stock hood to create another mold and do some revisions.

That's the hood I've been waiting on, a rep of the SL Black! I guess I'll be watching their site for listings.

The hood is not going to be released. The fitment issues are problematic. I may try to send them my original hood and have the mold remade and if it fits well, it would be made in a limited amount of 10-20 hoods. Further development will take 4-6 months, but don't know which path to take. Stone carbon, protects their clients' property so it isn't their design to sell.

so are you selling because you dont like the look of the hood or are you selling because of fitment issues?

Probably the fitment issues have led to me to not liking the looks of it as much as I want to. There are also some changes I would make to the design. The vents would be less raised and rounded more like the sl65. The vents would also dip down more at their opening.

The current hood has no issues opening or closing. I had the springs on the upper locks cut because there was too much upward pressure. It is just right. I have just contacted stone carbon and expressed that I was interested in shipping the old hood to them. We'll see. If all goes well and the test fitting is right, I will become a sponsor on this site and sell them. That's actually a long time from now.

Here's how the hood sat prior to the modifications.
