Bought it with 31k miles less than a week ago, have on almost a 1000 miles on it already thanks to that interstate commute.

They actually have the same 6 piston brakes as are found on the SLK55, but not the same as the 8 piston brakes that are found on the SL55.

I saw the listing for that car a week or two ago. Glad it found a home on the board.

Yes, SLK. My bad. I just wish it also had the 7speed Transmission from the SLK55 as well.

Thanks again everyone for the props. It was definitely worth the haul.

If you want to double check for option 213 (PML or speed sensitive steering) have a look at the attachment. The wiring loom for the ECU (44+ wires) will have a two wire harness branch off and go to the solenoid valve at the steering rack. I highlighted what to look for in the picture.

Congrats on a rare find. Great buy, IMHO. Hard to find a 2005 in that good of a condition these days.

These cars get smoother as the miles pile on. They do burn about 1 quart of Mobil-1 0W-40 every 3,500 miles or so, but that didn't start happening until after 60K miles, and only when I drive long distances in a given week (i.e. trips more than 125 miles each way continuously).

very clean glad you did your research and waited around. Let me know what you run with the headers and tune at the track. My best was 13.1 stock so maybe you can get into the high 12's. Thats great you've had track experience with your previous clk. I cant stand it when I see members here who purchase amg's and mod them and have never been to the track even once to test it out

Yes, I wish I was able to run it in better weather, D/A was over 2000 as i recall. That car was very peppy. I got on the 05 last night on the highway. Wow, is all i have to say. Let off as it was just getting into the meat of the powerband, but it definitely has more get up and go than my tuned 01.

Once we get that sweet spot of 40 degree weather, I will hit the track up.

Rotor clk55

Lovely car.

What is the size of the front rotor in your Clk55 ?

It doesn't look like 2 pieces rotor from the photo.

Can you please let me know if it really is 1 piece rotor and the size? 340mm

Thanks

Yeah but notice that I'm from Finland. Bringing car from Germany isn't big deal. I might but some pictures in other thread. I don't want to hijack this any more talking about my car. =)
