Front bumper CLK55 v CLK63
Hi, am I right that the 63 front bumper is a bit deeper than that of the 55? I assume the 63 bumper would still fit a 55 though? Thanks!

The 63 bumper (non BS) is the same as the face lift 500 ('06) and 550 (07-09) but it has the side vents. Other than that, I don't think there are any dimensional changes whatsoever. Check the 209 thread, a few guys have done the update/conversion. And yes, you can definitely get it on your 55.

Actually as I am sifting through bumper replacement options for my 55 I was also looking at clk 63 bumpers both non BS and BS. So the question from this old thread arises again, will clk 63 bumpers (a) BS and (b) non bs, fit my 55? I am pretty sure that the answer for non bs is yes and I think that the answer is yes for a bs as wel but need confirmation. Thanks.

Interesting, I must have mis read earlier entries in this thread and others which folks thought that clk 63 bumpers would fit my W208 body style. What bumpers will in fact fit my W208 body style then? Thanks.

I've seen a w209 550 bumper on a w208 but it was modified and wasn't a perfect fit. There's a lot more aftermarket options for the w208, try looking at some on ebay

That makes this easy then. Going to go with what I bring to the dance, staying with the classic AMG bumper. I may add some discrete black mesh behind the valence and see about upgrading the factory fogs then with brighter Hella replacement bulbs, assuming that those fogs aren't sealed beams of course lol. Thanks.
