Need Exhaust Advice!!
Just bought a 2001 clk55 amg and looking to put a full exhaust system on it. im new to modding these kinds of cars and im looking to know what good companies there are. i want nice stainless steel headers with maximum gains and a nice sounding exhaust...

i think KLEEMAN, RENNTECH and BRABUS has the exhaust system for our car but they are quite pricey. I am not sure if they are still available for sale since its been 10 years. I think AMS performance might have header also. you can give them a call.

Welcome!
Well headers will set you back about $1500. Then the exhaust is about $3000. So you could get a full exhaust with about $4000-$4500, thats a really good price for SHORT tube headers. Long tube are about twice that.
Supercharger systems start at around $12,000, respectfully.
ECU tune is about $1400.
Intake is about $1500 new and $800 used, if you can find a decent one used.
But before you do all of the upgrades, make sure your car is tuned up (eg. motor mounts, MAF, spark plugs, wires, ect.)
How many miles you got on the car?

Exactly. Best starting point when buying a used car is check your air filters, change your oil, spark plugs, do a full check so there is no surprises. There is a bunch of mods you can do as 400HP55 said, but as you can also see it all depends on your budget. If you want some quick gains for low money I would suggest a secondary cat and resonator delete then do headers. If you want a full exhaust like you said, headers back then you must have some idea that its not going to be cheap. However if you got the bank, then look into Kleeman, Renntech, Brabus, like CLK55AMGW208 said and maybe Eisenmann also or have something custom made. Post up some pictures of the car as well, as I see this is your first post...and make sure to use the search feature to help find answers.

this is a very bad example of how to drag race but the exhaust sound is worth listening to
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npDJg..._order&list=UL
I've got eisenmann race and all the kleemann goodies
check out the other videos I have up it should give you a clear idea of how the car would sound like with eisenmann race
happy modding!

04 cobra hu =D those things are pretty quick with just headers and a exhaust. Those were around 400HP off the block right? Good luck
P.S. I'd leave the resonator cause it helps smooth out the sound and has almost no restrictive affects...

I figured it would be expensive.. but thanks, and the vids are sick i def like the exhaust with the cats/resonator removed.. Im gunna remove the cats/resonator and possibly do headers to start..a friend of mine is getting an 04 cobra so i wanna show him what AMG has to offer lol thanks a lot guys for the advice
My 01 CLK55 had a tune and kandn filters, in decent weather it would run mid 13's@105-7.
My 03 Cobra bone stock was trapping 109-110 in 85 degree weather, after adding an exhaust I was trapping 113. Mind you boost was not even touched yet and I was one of the slow 03-04 Cobras.
My friend ran 11.29@123(On ET Streets) with just exhaust, intake, pulley and tune in his 03 Cobra.
They are called Terminators for good reason.
In regards to exhaust setup, if the funds are there I would highly suggest you get on the MBH long tube header group buy. These are the best out there IMO. Some high flow secondaries(if you want to cats) and you are golden. A set of kleemanns are your next best bet, and will save you some cash. For a tune I would contact Jerry at Eurocharged. Intake wise, renntech is the best option, but you can also upgrade to a w209 box for gain.
Good luck and make sure to post your progress!
